I hadn't taken into consideration how many other people have also gone to college. Then, of course, the economy crashed and I found myself making coffee for minimum wage, about 15 hours a week.
Since then, I've bounced from city to city and worked various dead-end jobs. I've gone through some difficult financial times, such as racking up massive credit card debt for essentials like shampoo and tampons all while facing 25 years of looming student loans and the monthly payments that come with that. Although all this can be depressing at times, it has also helped me learn how to budget my money, turned me into a savvy shopper, and discover many ways to cut corners without cutting quality out of my life.
Currently, I work at a bagel shop for minimum wage in Olympia. I live with my boyfriend, Kevin, in a small apartment with our cat, Metta. I spend my free time baking delicious vegan treats, DIYing, and finding the best ways to do things for the littlest amount of money. Simply because I don't have any.
